Massachusetts Cannabis Commission (MCCC) has fined Tilt Holdings LLC, a dispensary operator, $3,000, as well as fined Ayr Strategies, its home state lobbying firm, a further $3,000. The fines are in relation to the companies’ failure to register under Massachusetts’ recreational marijuana law.
The Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission has fined Tilt Holdings and Ayr Strategies $10,000 for violating the state’s license laws. Tilt, which hasn’t been operating in Massachusetts for two years, was charged for maintaining its website, www.tiltmass.com, which was clearly intended to solicit Massachusetts customers. Ayr, which has been operating in the commonwealth for less than a year, was charged for sending unsolicited information, including an email, to Massachusetts residents. Neither company was charged for the sale of marijuana, the penalty for which is much less severe.
